Hi ,

I am new to this forums. I apllied for green card based on marriage to a USC.

I filed my I-485 and I-130 on 08/10/06 at Dallas through DORA.(Interview done on the same day)
Fingerprint appt. on 09/05/2006
LUD: 09/06/2006

So what happens next? When will i hear from USCIS? Any guesses about when i will be getting my green card.

Thanks in advance and hope to hear from you guys.

We heard from them about exactly 1 month after the FP appointment that the case was approved(we received a little slip of paper directly from the Dallas Office, and signed by the officer, stating that "permanent resident as of ......." etc.) A couple of days later an official welcome letter arrived from the NBC in Missouri, and a couple days later the GC.

However, I am going to caution you to not compare directly to someone else's case. Yours may take a little longer or shorter, or a lot longer, depending on when your security checks clear. Do not fret about it too soon.

For us the process was very efficient - less than 2 months till the approval, just over 2 months to receiving the physical GC. But some people here have been waiting for more than a year with DORA, b/c the security checks have not cleared yet.

Best of luck
