DORA 70 day letter

Hello.
I received the 70 day letter (DORA program) in the mail last week. Is it necessary to go for the EAD or AP appointment or can i simply ignore it?

I think you should go. As you have no idea how long it is going to take for you to receive the actual green card at this point. It is better to be safe than sorry. :cool:

The only reason I ask is that I am on an H1-B (valid for another 2 years).
So is it ok to just not show up for the appointment? Is it optional? I could apply for the EAD later, if I need to, is that correct?

Oh well, you did not mention that fact in your post. What does the letter say exactly? You MAY/CAN/SHOULD come or your MUST/NEED-TO/ARE-OBLIGED-TO come?

The letter says that "you are eligible to apply for Employment Authorization Card or Advanced Parole....." and then they give me a day and time.
