Today I received approval notice from st.louis local office.
RD - 09/24/01
TD - 01/07/03( Married after filing)
ID - 03/20/03
AP - 03/25/03
And here is a history for those who have time to read.
Except for the marital status change, everything else was pretty much the same including the home address for 4 years. What an ambitious guy?. Case transferred to STL on Jan 7. Relocated to Jefferson City under Kansas City office on Jan 15. One month lease remained in st.louis. On Feb, contacted the STL office to get an update. An agent told unassigned. Asked her if I could expect an interview in March or April. She told uncertain. Gave change of address right away. Vacated the APT. Drove back to Jeff city. Send a legible copy of change of address from home. Next day got an interview letter for March 20 from STL. Drove back again to STL. Asked about 'cancelling the Change of Address'. Files were still there. The agent took the cancellation request and gave a receipt. Got the key back from the STL apt for one more month. Drove back to Jefferson City. Next day my 'legible' change of address copy reached stl office. 2 days later, got a notice telling the case is transferred to Kansas City. Here I go, to STL. This time the agent told 'OH OH GONE'. I showed her the receipt cancelling the change of address. Then she asked me to come on the interview date anyway. She contacted the KC office and got the files back. Attended the interview. Went pretty smooth. IIO told approval might take upto an year. It didn't. Got Approval notice within a week. Now back to STL, this time blindfolded and relaxed.
Morale of the story - 1) By contacting the offices, they are able to do certain things if they want to.
2) Better to stay away from the whole hooplah for an year after the RD. Drink 2 beers until then daily.
3) Those who read all these do have enought time with their life. So make it 3 beers daily.
Good luck guys.
