I filed a Dosmestic violence case againist my husband in regard to his abusive behaviour eventually. Things got really worse. We are planning to get divorce now. I am on h4 visa and I do not want to go back due to social stigma I would be facing back in the home country as of a divorcee. The thing is that..I have been told by attorney that I can apply for U-visa which is for abusive victims but the processing take a year and a half but you can neither work nor study while application is still under process. On the other hand, I have the option of apply for F1 visa. I applied in one of the universities for the certification course and got admitted and I-20 is in my hand. I do intend to do masters later on.
The issue is... 1) Shall i go for U-visa or F1?
2) Secondly, my husband has not yet given me back my h4 document and I have applied for the duplicate copy of it. H4 is not in my hand. If i go for f1, shall i mention about my divorce or domestic violence thing or just say that I lost my h4 document.
How can I apply f1 visa with h4 document since i do not have social security number as well nor drivers license.
On the other hand, it is very important for me to show strong ties to my home country? What do u guys suggest in that perspect?
