The DOL has released the information that it will eliminate all the backlog cases by September 30, 2007. It is 18 months away. It means that over 360,000 cases will be decided within the next 18 months, opening a flood gate to the USCIS within that period of time. This will certainly affect the visa movement.
so does this mean this retrogression will last till 2007 sept?
 
USCIS stated on my 485 receipt that "it is taking between 570 - 600 days to adjudicate such cases" - about a 1000 days later, I am still waiting. Probably they forgot to add some qualifiers (such as .. 570 to 600 Mondays or 570 to 600 days, counting from 1 January 2005 ..)
Bottom line - I will believe it when I see it.
