Hello everyone,
I am planning to use AC21 and have approved copy of my I-140 and my Labor certification. The Labor certified copy certifies me as a "Software Engineer" with the DOT code 030.062-010.
Since DOL is using the SOC code and have a DOT to SOC connector to look up the new SOC code, my title comes under 2 SOC codes 15-1031.00 and 15-1032.00.
When my labor was filed my employer had given the Title as Programmer Analyst, as per the new SOC codes above both of them report the "Sample of reported job titles" as Software Engineer.
I want to change my employer and want to make sure that I get a EVL from the new employer with the correct language to use AC21 for same or similar job duties.
The Labor certfied copy lists job duties as develop software applications using languages...and perform system testing etc..
Has anyone here faced a similar scenario and switched jobs using AC21. Can you please post your experiences and how you went about using AC21 (procedure for filing). I know that it is a good idea to have similar job title from the new employer.
Appreciate your inputs
Thanks
