Doing business in Canada – EAD/AP in US PR of Canada

My wife is the principal applicant for American GC and we both have EAD (from pending I-485) and staying in Michigan near Port Huron and Sarnia, Canada

Would it be possible for me to start business or work in Sarnia, Canada and commute daily back to USA and still maintain the residency requirement for Canadian PR and Canadian Citizenship?

By working in Canada and commuting daily back to USA affect pending I-485?

You can go back and forth if you have a multiple entry visa and/or valid AP.
Time will be considered time spent in Canada for PR and Citizenship (but must be documented) that you are in Canada.

Should not affect 485 case. However you may have to choose between the US GC and Canada PR once you finally have US GC.

You can document from 1 or combination of following

1) Entry/exit stamp in passport
2) Bus Fare
3) Electric /Tel Bill
4) Credit card receipts that expense was made in Canada
5) Filing Canadian Income taxes
6) Receipts for small items

As long as you have some receipt for something you have bought ( which says day and time and location) you should be fine
