Does this mean my name check is done?

Hello gurus,

I recently called VSC and asked about my name check. The offiicer took my information and went to check on it. When he came back he said they got all the information they needed from the FBI and my application is currently on "Visa Hold".

Does this mean that my name check is atleast complete?

I've got the same answer from Vermont, and then specifically asked about my name check since I was stuck in it. She said it's ready and I should wait for the decision.
So I guess, your name check is complete.

My wife and I both called seperately and we got the same answer. They said - your case shows Visa Hold Status and that means once the visa # are available, they will assign the case to an adjudicator.

I wonder if this is the standard response to all. Finding out from the Senator/Congressman is probably a more reliable option.

What does your online status say. Does it say about visa hold or it has the same generic message that everybody has.
Because in my case, when I call vermont those guys said check online status thats the latest and when FBI name check is thru it will update. Is that all true.

Please reply, atleast this will keep my hope intact if onlien status message does not count. And I will continue to call those guys...

does LUD changes after name check

My case is also struck in Name check, Now seems my PD is current, I would like to check status with uscis.
is LUD changes after name check? since mine not changed after may 20th.
 
No change in Online Message

There is no change in my online message and it has the generic message from last year...whats more there is no change in the LUD. But I think it is okay even if there is no change in the message because my wife had got her name check completed in just month after we got our FP taken (this was confirmed more than once) and the online message is still the same old generic mesage with no LUD at that time too.

So I guess there is still hope..good luck!!!
 
from what i gather from this and other forums there's no LUD/message change @VSC when the namecheck is complete. There's also no Message change when the results of FP are received.
How do you call VSC? I'm not going to yet - it's still too early, but for the future...
 
To call VSC

this was posted earlier in a bunch of posts...ie to reach VSC.

Press 1 (for english),
press 2 (for existing case),
press 6 (for case statues etc),
then press 1( for knowing your receipt no.),
enter the receipt # to get the automated response saying blah blah blah and also at the end saying this is the most upto date information on your case and our customer the same info national customer service agents have (i totally agree with this).
Then choose to continue to the next step "press 3" . choose 3
Listen to the options-
Option 4 "if you feel if you submitted together and one of the applications is left out and not processed (don't remmember the exact message text ..but something about companion case "
