does this make sense for aos?

hey all,
i visited the local uscis office today to inquire about the aos process and to confirm a few things. i searched this portal for similar info but did not find anything. the gentleman at uscis told me today at as long as a dv case number is current even though it becomes current in september, there is still time to do aos??? he said that, it is their responsibility to finish all files for DV by end of september as long as the number is current?
what do you guys say about this? just wanted to pick some intellectual brains in the forum..

On Monday, they (my local USCIS office) told me exactly the same thing but I read a lot about AoS and I couldn't find any confirmation of this sort of action. So, unfortunately, I don't take it as 100% accurate :mad:

Did you send the packet to KCC?

well thats a good question. i am on f1 myself and from nepal. couple years ago (DV2006), all numbers were current in september. and dv 2007, all number are current as of august, (for most of the countries except listed in the far right column), this means that higher numbers could luck out and be current before september if next year plays out the same way as 2007 did.

never hurts to try. i mailed my package to kcc towards mid may.
i am at 13XXX, i have heard number as high as AS 16XXX.

i didnt know what to think about it really. i hope he is right though, :D
