Does the Freeze affect EAD approvals too?

Does the Freeze affect EAD approvals too?
My 485 RD is 09/2001. My EAD is set to expire in 04/2003. I don't see any chances of my 485 getting approved before then. So applied for an EAD extension a couple of week back.

Does anybody have any idea with EAD approvals are also affected by the freeze?

Has anybody seen any EAD appovals in the last 4/5 weeks of the 485 freeze?

Nope!

I don't think so, I had applied mine for renewal on 22/Oct/2002 and got approved on 09/Dec/2002. So I assume that there is no freeze on EAD!
 
EAD is the only thing getting approved

As per one IIO I spoke to sometime back they have 80% of their precious resources deveted to EAD/AP processing.
I think EAD approval is still going on.


An approved EAD makes a significant difference in this economy because that person is eligible to work and wuold pay taxes the day he/she starts to work. Hence it would be given some priority.
