Does the country of origine matter for the recommenders?

I am a Chinese, and my PhD supervisor and department chairman are both Chinese too. Among all the 7-8 recommenders, 4-5 are Chinese origin and I do not know if this would affect. Although they are all US citizens. The rest 3-4 are American and they are actually the most heavy weighted persons in my petition.
