What if someone laidoff stays on the payroll with leave on absence(after 180 days)? I am asking this because these days it takes sometime to get a job even on EAD and INS historically doesn\'t like people on no one\'s payroll.

Any useful suggestions on this?

LOA does not entitle one to be on the Payroll

Fabolous,

My understanding of Leave of Absence is that a person under Leave of Absence (LOA) will not be on the Payroll of the Employer but technically employed with the Company. People on LOA do not get paid but they are eligible for the benefits that other employees are receiving.

I think you can still be an emploee and not get paid.

which is what LOA is. anyone knows better, pls. post.
