Hey everyone, it's my first post here but I always follow the forum to obtain useful info

my question is, if my green card will expire in 3 years and I renewed it thereafter, can I apply for naturalization in 5 years although the renewed green card will be acquired 2 years ago by the time ? Thanks

Greencard renewal has nothing to do with residency period. As long as you have been a permanent resident for 5 years and have satisfied the requirement of physical presense in the US, you are good to go. Green card is just proof of your permanent residence status.

The renewed green card will have a "resident since" date on it which is the same date that was on the original green card. They don't reset or erase your permanent resident history just because you renew or replace the card.
