Does Philly. INS do walk-in EAD renewal?

My RD is OCT 18 and EAD expires on Jan 02, 2003. So I am wondering can I renew EAD in Philly. INS office in one day. The INS web site says the following for Philly. location,

"Employment Authorization Documents (EADs) (first time & renewals):
File INS Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization, at the Front Counter of the Philadelphia District Office at 1600 Callowhill Street, Philadelphia, PA.


Once you've been notified your EAD is ready, you may pick it up at the third floor of the Philadelphia District Office at 1600 Callowhill Street, Philadelphia, PA, Monday through Friday (except holidays) from 8:00 AM to 12:00 Noon. "

Please share your ideas or experience, If this is not possible I may have to go to VSC.
 
Better try VSC.

I don't think they handle EAD renewals if 485 pending in VSC. You'd better do the renewal through VSC.

I don't think you need to go to Vemont to get EAD renew. Any local/region should be able to do that ( EAD Renew). In my case, my I485 is pending for unreasonably long time and my EAD is going to expire also. I submited my renew form to Vemont 3 months ago, which I thought it was safe, however, I got screwed again. After 3 months, they haven't worked on my case. So after 90 days I received the receipt from Vemont. I went to my local office (Dover, DE). I filed another application for an interim EAD, and after 2 weeks, I got the notice , then I have to walk in again to get the interim one.

So my suggestion is go to the region office or at least call them first. If you don't want to do that, then send your application to Vemont.
