Does Passport matter while doing pp staming?

My 485 approved recently.
One of my kids pp will expire in 6 months.
Do I need to renew the PP before going to pp stamping?

Renew PP

I think that you are better off by renewing the PP prior to stamping. Once you have PP stamped and then it is expired, you will have to get another passport. Then, you will have the expired PP w/ stamp and the valid renewed PP to travel. It happenned to me with H visa and it was not fun to carry 2 PP.

As far as I know you should have atleast one year left in the PP at the time of stamping. Check with the Customer Service in INS.

It depends... my son had the same situation.

My son PP will expire about 6 months. He got PP stamping two weeks ago and his valid period on the stamp is till the expired date. And His online message showed his card already mailed out two days ago. If so, it doesn't matter. It will depend on your family vacation plan regarding renewal.

Either renew your passport or take two more photoes with you. The CIS will issue you a temporary GC instead stamp your PP.
