Does one need to file current year tax return before going to interview?

Folks,
This is a question for my dad, he has an interview next week. Does he need to file his 2008 Tax return before going to the interview? We typically have time until Apr 15 to file them , but i was wondering if one needs to be current with the taz returns when going to the interview. Please advice.

No, Your dad does not have to file 2008 tax returns before his interview next week.

If his interview is after April 15 2008, the IO may ask him for the 2008 return.
