does ombudsman speed up

Hi,

My PD is apr 07 but I did not get IL yet. so I sent application to uscis ombudsman. I got a letter from them saying that they opened an inquiry with uscis and I should hear from them in 45 days.

My questions is..anyone went through this route? should I expect any communication from USCIS?

I went through this when my namecheck was pending :( I pretty much e-mailed the vice president , CIS ombudsman etc. All the CIS ombudsman does is contacts the USCIS for a status update and you get a generic letter from CIS stating either ur name check is complete or it's still pending. It's a good step for documentation if you decide to file the WOM.

I was stuck in the name check process for a year :) you all follwed my time line. I just got my username changed. I got my IL 2 weeks after my Name check was complete.

congressman, ombudsman who should I write next

Hi sachin,

Hope you are enjoying being a citizen:)

I have written to my senator and ombudsman. Should I also write to the first lady? I actually tried calling the customer service but they refused to let me talk to IO saying I can only talk to them if my case is 365 days from the PD.(I filed in apr 07 so it is not 365 days yet). The letter from ombudsman raised my hopes a little but someone here says USCIS will just send me std response..in that case that is not much helpful.
I have not heard from my senators office yet.

I can only wait and hope:)

yep I am enjoying the US Citizenship :) And happy new year to you too. I don't really know if an inquiry from the first lady's or Vice PResident's office does any thing :(. You can try writing to Michael Cannon FBI NNCP Section Chief or maybe to Robert Mueller and see if it helps.

As for the respose to the inquiry made with the CIS Ombudsman's office yes you will receive a generic response back :(
