Hi,

I am just wondeing if nationality has any bearing on the employment based I-485 processing time.... Any answers from any one are highly appreciated..

Thanks in advance.

I think name of the individual can cause more hurdles during the name check process.
Already the name check process is taking a long time, and if your names is even remotely simillar to those of the ones wanted by FBI or CIA or anyone, then that will cause delays in the name check process and hence delays in the 485 process.
Regarding nationality, technically they are not suppose to give preference or not give preference to an individual based on their national origin, but in the end it comes down to the officer who is looking at your file, and what his moral and emotional values are.

Very well said, guju...

Guju is right...
Once all I-485s are in the queue, it does not matter where you are from. The only thing I can think of is that if, God forbid, there should be any backlog, it'll reflect on the Visa Bulletin issued by the Department of State. I understand from few years back that my fellow I-485ers from India, Mexico, and the Philippines were subject to Priority Date cutoff; however, this is no longer the case for all EB cases are current.

I truly hope that NSC Adjudications Officers would look at each and every case, based on its merit rather than one's nationality. But then again, as guju has so eloquently put it, we will never know what goes through in those officers mind...
