I am looking to get a visa for my former girlfriend from Romania. We haven't seen one another in 5 years, since I lived over there. I'm a US citizen and we've reconnected via email and skype in the past 6 months and have "really hit it off" again. Since it's been 5 years, we don't know that everything will work out or that we'll get married. So forgoing the K-visa seems the right choice. But it's supposed to be difficult for a younger woman to get a tourist visa (she's 24). I happen to run my own business and she will be coming with me on business trips, etc., so I'm considering the b1.
(I've researched the forum posts but haven't found anything yet that's similar to my situation.)
Q's:
1) Is it better/easier for her to apply for b1 or a b2 visa?
2) What are the best supporting documents she'll need to present to prove she has no intent on getting married and returning after 6 months? (I'm going to write a letter stating I have financial responsbilities for her and she'll be living with me. Plus, I will provide an itinerary of where she'll come with me on business and pleasure travels.)
Thanks in advance for any support you can provide! She's means a lot to me and is an amazing woman. Right now we just want to be together and give things a try and see where it takes us.
