Does it matter how long I have stayed in US?

I have lived in US for seven and half years now. I was with TN for first five years and have switched to H1B two years ago.
Now I am switching to a new company and getting a new TN.
I spoke to one lawyer today and she said there is a chance that my TN will be rejected because I have stayed in US for long period of time.
Is that true? I am planning to mail my application thru the Premium Processing for conservative reason.
Is this a good idea?
Please help!!

Thanks

-- There is a possibility of denial but that's why you use mail-in TN and avoid seeing the border official.

-- Yes. If you send the right paperwork, I do not see any reason for the denial. Good luck!
