Does I-140 invalidate an existing EAD ?

I received an EAD when I applied for F-1/OPT in 2003. This had a year's validity then, but it has been used for my H-1B applications ever since. I am about to start my sixth year of H-1B (from Jan, 2010).

I am from a retrogressed country (India) and will be applying for EB2-NIW I-140 (can't apply concurrently for I-485). Would an I-140 approval invalidate my existing EAD ? I will probably need it to continue working on H-1B status post year 6.

Sorry - your question is not clear. You wrote that your EAD expired in 2004, so how can it become invalidated? It's already useless !!

What do you mean by "it has been used for my H-1B applications ever since" ? You mean you included a photocopy of it with your applications? Your work authorization under H-1B status is not related to your OPT EAD at all. Your OPT EAD is, again, useless and irrelevant to your current status.
