Hi All,

My attorney emailed me that my I-485 could be approved in March bcause of the new NC memo, but I may need a new FP as it is 20 months old. Some friends posted here that NC could be reprocessed automatically by USCIS, and some got new FP notices. Any comments for that? Thanks.

I am seeing mixed reports. My attorney said they are re-using FP. Another attorney implied all those did FP July 2007 and later will get their FP re-used.
Still some folks reported they got approved without getting another FP notice. So, anything with USCIS will get 200 opinions from 100 people.
Pleaese report back what happens in your case.

FP done in July 2006 and after are re-used and re-checked

My FP done in August 2006, I got me green card approved early February 2008 without having to do FP again. I guess the logic is that FP saved electronically can be re-submitted to FBI for check if 15 months have passed. I am not sure why FP done before July 2006 are not saved in their system. Hope this helps.

I think you meant to say FP done before July 2007. What was your Service Center?

Could you please check with FBI FP check phone number when did they receive your FP request? I'm sure you can search around for that phone number. That will tell us if the FP requests are being sent to FBI when FPs are refreshed or rerun by retrieving them from USCIS system instead of asking the applicant to go to ASC.

My fingerprints did expire after 15 months so had to have them taken again. The reason I was told is because their system can only hold these details for that legnth of time

I am in same boat i have given my first FP on march 15th 2006 when my case was filled with VSC, later my case got transferred to TSC on March 2007, but i have not received any notification TSC for scecond FP as it close to two years now.
Iam eargerly waiting for April VISA bulliten as there is strong hope for EB2 India VISA number will be avaliable again.
Being Labor PD : Aug 2000 i am hoping for application decision as my Name Check was cleared on Oct 29th 2007.
Could please share do i need to take an Infopass appointment and get the FP done?

Any help or suggestion is highly appreciated.

As someone else pointed out, it looks like FP are being automatically renewed. I've seen quite a few posts that said that they seemed to be renewed and much fewer posts where they had to be given again.

As with so many other things with the USCIS, this is, of course, a nebulous area but I'd lean toward the opinion that they don't need to be given again.

NSC was able to refresh FP

My FP were refreshed by NSC last week without any second appointment letter. No LUD. Confirmed it by calling FBI #.
