Does FOIA request block 485 adjudication ?

Hi All,

I have a pending I-485 at TSC. As per their processing dates it's now close to being adjudicated. I had sent a FOIA request for copies of my LC and 140 approval notice couple of months back, but have not received them yet.

I've noticed that some 485 cases filed after mine have been approved by TSC last week. Is my pending FOIA request blocking my I-485 file at TSC ? Should I cancel my FOIA request ?

Experts please throw some light on this.

It should not have any effect ..

As far as I know a FOIA request should have no bearing on the approval of your application but crazier things have been known to happen.

Thanks Saras.

I called their customer service number and was told that they get only digital copies from TSC but my 485 file is physically at TSC. But somewhere in this forum I had read that the file is moved from the respective service center to FOIA office and that may block the processing.
