Hi All

a) Just curious to know if FBI checks with countries I visited as part of security check/name check?

b) How does FBI know which countries I have visited and in order to check with these countries?

c) Who does FBI contact in these countries to get the verification done?

I have visited a number of countries and am concerned if this will impact or delay my name check.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Be careful....FBI can find anything on YOU.

It is a classified process which the public is not preview to, so if you visited so-called hot-beds to terror... Pakistan, Indonesia and Afghanistan, plus the big evil empire, Iran, then you could be stuck in the name check for while.  Those aren't my views on those countries, but the Bush admin view, I have no problem with traveling to those countries. I have been to CUBA, because I love to visit the Havana to see the good people of Cuba. ;)

However, the greencard process should not scare you too much, wait when you have to file for Naturalization, those trips are going to come under heavy scrutiny especially because of the terror times we live in. So, if I were you, will avoid travelling to those controvesial countries, just to cover your behind.

Good luck...

AL

Thanks Al

Thanks for your reply, Al.
I have been on frequent business trips to Canada,UK and Europe.
My only concern is the time it would take if someone went about checking each of my trips.

I am from Iran, i got a REF for my AP , they asked me to send a copy of my passport pages with any stamp on it. i sent it back and my AP was approved within 3 weeks.my other Iranian friend got his GC last year 5 months after filing I-485.
