Does everyone takes status info letter from selective service?

Does everyone carries status info letter from selective service even if you have
clear proof that you were on non-immigrant visa such as H1B and received green card only after 26th birthday?

I will be curious to know if INS officers asked anyone explicitly to provide letter
in such case ?

What is the norm in terms of documentation requirements ?

i did get the status letter to show I was not required to register. The interview officer did not ask me the letter, or did not go thru that specific question on N400

It used to be a requirement to have this letter if you weren't required to register, but not anymore.
It still is nice to have it, for peace of mind. I have the letter, but I am only going to show it if the interview officer explicitly asks for it. Guess I will find out in 2 weeks (my interview is 2/10).

I wish you luck and I hope you will get thru everything easily and attend one of the oaths during March.

pls keep us updated and if you could, you could post your experience in the "Santa Ana Timeline" thread

Thanks. Didn't know there was a Santa Ana thread. I only saw the LA thread.
I will post my experience in both.

i created the Santa Ana thread when I first joined this thread, and thought i might want to attract more people to post their timelines and experiences who have their cases in Santa Ana sub-office.
