It is up to you whether to contact FBI or not. CIS does what it has to do in order to process the case at their convenience. By contacting FBI for finger printing and name check, all we will get is some peace of mind or it might create unnessary expectations that the cases are ready to be approved. It is for you to decide what action to take.............
No, you are not required to check. You may check just to make sure it cleared, or if your case has been pending well past the processing date you can confirm to see if it is the name check that is causing the delay.
