Does Employment Based I-485 Require interview?

Does Employment Based I-485 Require interview?
My lawyer told me it is not. But some of my friends received interview notices. Why is that? Does anybody has an anwer?
 
What's the process after approval?

Assuming that employement based 485 does not require an interview at the local office, what is the process once 485 gets approved?

Just wait for the notification from USCIS or lawyers & take documents and go for passport stamping?

what happens at the office?

What happens at the local immigration office? Officer would just verify the identity and stamp the passport?
