Does EAD need to be filled along with concurrent 140/485 filing?

Hi,

I'm planning to file I-140 and 485 concurrently and wanted to know if I should or should not file EAD & AP also at this time. I'd like to know if it helps filing for the EAD along with 140/485. What are the pros and cons of filing it now versus later (when I actually require) i.e. in terms of processing time, AC21 rule, approval times, etc.?

Also, I can work on H1 and as of now, do not have any plans to travel.

Please advise on what's the best approach. Thanks in advance.

You don't have to apply for an EAD if you don't want to.

It will help, if you want to change employers using AC21. If you feel your job is secure and no threat and want to continue using H1B, then you can wait until such a time you feel an EAD is required.

There are no added advatages w.r.t. processing.
