Does (cleared) Name check expires

Hi folks
Does cleared name check gets expire after 2 years?
MY PD is EB3 (ROW) 21 october 2001
Applied for 485 since June 2004.
Name check (My self and wife) has been clear since July 2004 (Got an reply email from FBI about this).
Got 485 RFE last year
Got another 485 RFE back in MAY 2006. May 2006 RFE has been recieved since July 2006

Hoping to see some action in this month:)

Not another nightmare for those who are waiting for their GCs....

I have never heard about this. Only FP expires after 15 months....

I read earlier in this forum that Name Check is valid only for 6 months.

Saras would you like to comment on this?
 
This is not correct. I had my name check cleared in mid 2003 and got my GC in Jan 2005. So looks like it doesnt expires.
Who knows what the policy these days.

I don't think there is any clear policy on name check validity that I am aware of. I would hope that it does not expire.

How does one came to know that their name check got cleared or stuck? I am aware of that there is a phone number of FBI to verify wheter the finger prints results was sent to USCIS. In fact, I did for my case. I do not know how to verify name check got cleared? Is there any contact numbers?

I recently replied to RFE on my 485, which is pending for 15 months. There was a LUDs for four days in mine and all my family members 485s. My PD is not current. I do not know how to check my name check was cleared? Appreciate your answers..Thanks
 
name check will not expire

I had a similar situation and asked USCIS and the answer was: once FBI name check was cleared, it would not have to do again. But the finger printing will expire on 15 months and this is different from name check.

There is no easy way to find out about Name Checks. Some people called the Service Centers and were told that their name check was pending while others placed congressional inquires and found out that way. The phone number and email for FBI do not work anymore.

If the PD is current, FPs have been done and no RFEs are pending yet the case remains pending then it is safe to "assume" that it is probably a name check issue. The best way to inquire is through a congressional inquiry but that should be done as a last resort.
