My case was transferred to Chicago INS office on August 27th 2003 from Vermont Processing center to schedule an interview. As per my attorney it may take another six months before I hear anything from Chicago office. I wanted to find out whether Chicago INS center informs my attorney whenever they schedule an interview!
The problem I am having is as follows:
I am visiting India for six weeks from Nov 16th till Dec 30th. If the local office doesn't inform my attorney then I have to ask a friend of mine to keep checking mails for me so that if at all Chicago center does send me an interview notice then I can ask my attorney to reschedule it. If they do inform my attorney then it’s ok. My attorney is aware of my vacation plans and she will reschedule whenever she receives notice.
I also heard that local office sends out notice six weeks before the interview. I am wondering whether anyone can confirm this!
Also I wanted to find out whether local office usually mails the approved EAD/APs or do we have to collect it personally.
I will highly appreciate if anyone shares their experience or knowledge about this matter.
My case details are as follows:
• EAC: 02-110-50xxx
• RD: 01/30/2002
• ND: 02/13/2002
• FP (1): 03/05/2002
• 08/31/2002: My sponsoring company closed its
Chicago operations. Found a job with a local company
after three months.
• RFE (1): 07/30/2003 – Job Related – Employment Letter
and six pay stubs. I furnished all the details.
• FP (2): 08/28/2003
• 08/27/2003 – My case has been transferred to local
Chicago office to schedule an interview.
