Does Chicago DOL assign a case #, once MI Labor Dept forwards a RIR case to them?

My application was forwarded to the Chicago DOL on Aug 31,2001. I want to check on the status of my application at Chicago, and asked my attorney for the case #, she says there are no case #s assigned by the Chicago DOL.

Is this true? I find it a little hard to believe. So how does an application get tracked at Chicago.

Thanks.

Strange

That\'s very strange and also not true. But you can check your case status by sending an e-mail to the Chicago DOL using any of the following:

1. Employer Tax ID
2. Employer Phone Number
3. Case No.

Yes they do.

If you do not have your case number call chicago DOL at (312)353 1054 or (312)353 7516 and talk to them. I went this way and got my case number. My application has reached them on Oct. 12th and I am still waiting to hear from them.

What info do you need when you call them to find out your case #? Do they give you the info or does your employer/attorney have to call them?

Thanks.
