Does BCIS's NCSC really have any visibility to case status???

After almost one & half years of filing my AOS application, first time today I called BCIS 800 # and I got the lady representative pretty quickly on live and so I got impressed . But I donot think she has much visibility on my case status. First she read out the same boring status text that we can see on online case status website. Then I tried to explain my concerns that it's almost 540 days and my FP has crossed 15 months time and I have not heard anything on my case, not even the notice for Re-FP. She asked me all the details about my case , including my DOB, Name, Address, Alien# , RD EAC#, whether I have changed my address after filing or not, etc. etc. and then said , everything what I said, matches with what they have in my file. Then she said, she will request for my case status and I will get a letter showing the case status within 3-4 weeks timeframe..... I donot know whether it's their standard reply to everybody or not.... What's your experience if you have called the NCSC recently? Do they just take the inputs and enter the data to send out an internal request to generate a status letter or what???

same here

I had the same experience with them. Seems there is a disconnection between NCSC and VSC, they have no idea what's going on at VSC.

I bet you will get a printed version of online status message:rolleyes: what a waste

101% agree. most of the officers are nice but can provide next to nothing. the only thing they perform is to verify your information (as if they're giving you some confidential info in a minute), then they repeat what everybody can see from online status check, not a piece more, not a piece less. all this can be replaced by adding another option in the AVM, "press 9 if you want to send an inquery about your case status"...

Same here...

I too had similar experience with NCSC. Last year I had called to verify about receipt of my finger prints review (online msg. was stuck to 'pending review'). First I called local BCIS (INS Newark) and they said my FPs were already sent. Second I called FBI and they too said my FPs were already reviewed and sent to VSC. Finally I somehow called NCSC and the guy took all my info and told me that I will be sent a formal status by mail! After a few days they sent me a blank G-731 (This form is used to inquire as to the status of an I-551, Alien Registration Card, for an alien who has adjusted status) application to send to VSC !!

My case was approved on 03/05/2003. I called NCSC (1-800 number) on 03/06/2003 (Next day) to check the status of my case. They asked my A#, EAC Number, Name etc. Finally the lady asked me to send a postal mail with these references to find out the status of my case. Till evening of 03/06/2003, my online and AVM status did not changed. By 11 PM, approval message was shown.

That's how IIO work. They have the same message we see online or in AVM. If IIO have access to real data, she must have answered about my approval.
