Does anyone konw if 14 year-old applicant needs NC

I know it's required for the FP if the applicant is between 14-73 years old. How about the NC? Is it required for 14 year-old? I heard ppl say it is only required when the applicant is 18 or 21 over. Is that right? thanks.

Yes, for under_forteen, all routine security checks are performed even NC.
I have two under_forteen now turned 14 are in these security checks since Dec 22, 2004 as told by USCIS/Congressional Representatives.
USCIS knows better.

So you are saying you got confirmation from USCIS and Congressional Rep telling you that your 2 14 year-old kids are under the security checks, especially FBI Name Check. I thought only 18 or 21 years old applicants are subject to FBI Name Check.

There is a WOM case in CT about a girl who was 12 when she filed 485 and got stuck in NC for 5 years, so go figure yourself.

I filed I-485 along with my wife and my son back in Dec.2002, so if this is true, then he has been stuck in NC for almost 4 years? That sucks!

Does USCIS have a criteria for conducting a Name Check? Who should? No one is in the exception no matter how old he or she is?
