Don't worry about this message. Mine was same for more than 2 yrs. Lately after filing my RFE response it changed to the new status. My wife's case still shows the same message as stated here.

You mean you know they sent you RFE until your Lawyer notice you? But not by finding out from the online message?

This made me nervous, because my lawyer changed address, and I am worried he cannot received it probably.
 
Unfortunately, this is true.

My lawyer received the RFE and informed me about it. Till then the message was saying "We sent you a notice to appear for FP on March 27 2002 ..... ".

Only after NSC received my resopnse for RFE the message was changed to "We received response to our RFE on ...."

I'm sure that there are some people on this forum for whom the message was changed when a RFE was issued. But, in may case it was not.

I can understand how it feels and I'm on the same boat too. I moved to a new address recently and came to know from various sources, who sent me mails, that for first week USPS returned all my mails back to senders. This makes me very nervous, as the online status is not very reliable. Here too my online status is same since July'03 and I'm sleeping on fire wondering what if BCIS sent me anything during that time and was returned ...
