does an unused re-entry permit affect citizenship reqmts ?

Hi

I had applied for a re-entry permit in April 03 as I was planning to be working out of the country for an extended period.

I have not recieved my reentry permit as yet. Also, my plans of staying outside the US for extended periods stand cancelled.

Should I cancel my re-entry permit application ?
If it does get approved, will that affect the timeline for my citizenship application even though I might never use the re-entry permit ?


Any pointers are appreciated.

Just having a re-entry permit does not affect your residency and therefore does not affect future citizenship application. What matters is how long you actually stay out of US.
