Hello

I have received my Son's (age 11) approval notice. His biometric appointment is scheduled for Oct 14th for the CARD.

Does this mean that he has a visa number alloted and it is just a matter of processing the card. ? or

Does he also get stuck in retrogession?

Any help on the process would help.

Regards

PS: I already have the CARD for self , Spouse and 2nd Child.

aris,

If the 485 has been approved then the visa number has been alloted. Do not worry.

Correct about visa number.

My daughter, also age 11, got approval in July and notice said to schedule biometric appointment via Infopass. We did that, but at the appointment they did not take any biometrics, saying these are not applicable to under-14s. However they stamped her passport and took the 2 new passport photos that we had brought along, as instructed on the approval notice. Her card has not shown up to date.

There's another recent thread about somebody who received one of the newer style approval notices for their child, which said to make biometric appointment at ASC. So they did, but when they went to the appointment, ASC refused to take biometrics, saying it's not applicable to under-14s.

I think USCIS seems a bit muddled lately about making cards for under-14 year-olds. Good luck!

Thanks Saras76 and anxiouscdn for clarifying

Now Iam "Anxious" about what will happen on Oct 14th.

Please clarify

Hi Aris (and Others).....

Pardon my ignorance on the terminology etc.....

I think I am on the same boat, but wanted confirm this..

What you mean by I-485 approved but Card pending.... Could you please clarify on this...

I received a Letter from USCIS for my son (5 years) old which said :

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Notice Type : Approval Notice

Main text of the Notice :
In processing your case we have reached the point where we need you to make an appointment to got one of our ASC's for additional biometrics.........
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Is this the same ?

2. Will this case be effected by the October Retrogression ?

I was planning a trip out of the country with my family. Guess now it is going to get into a limbo again. Boy ... looks like it is always Surprises....

Thanks for your response

Sw2005:

How about yourself ? also approved ?
What does the online status message say for your son's case ? Thanks,

Yep Crystalview...

Me and my spouse have already received the Card... and that too pretty fast I would say....inside of 5 months.....post application

But any thoughts on whether my Sons case would be stuck due to Retrogression. His Biometrics is scheduled for October too. Now I am trying to see if I can get an alternate appointment (possibly travel more) to get the thing done by Spetember itself.

Thanks

Hi Sw2005,

Yes you are correct. My Sons's case we also received the same Notice

I797, Notice of Action, Notice Type : Approval Notice. We are exactly in the same boat. You should fix up the appointment for the Biometrics. If you want to travel outside then I suggest you can get an AP for your Son. But do no miss the appointment. My suggestion would be to get the Biometrics done and then travel

Crystalview : The Online Status message says "This case has been approved....'

Today , I also called up the National Service Centre to find out if the Retrogression affects my Sons' case ...Here is the response

"If you have an approval notice, All you need to do is get the Biometrics completed , then the CARD will be mailed to you. The DOS retrogression does not affect this case, since the case has been approved."

I hope the lady at USICS is correct.

Regards

Thanks Aris for the Clarification....

I too hope that the lady in INS is correct (and the others on this chain).

Thanks once again.
