Does 140 category matter the approval of 485

Please help me with the following three questions. Many thanks in advance.
1. Does the category of I-140 matter the approval of 485?

2. My 485 received date is in Jan. and noticed date is in April, which date should I use for tracking?

3. Is it safe to go back home country by using AP after I-140 approval and 485 pending?

1. Does the category of I-140 matter the approval of 485?
A: Officially it shouldn't matter. A perception based on messages on this forum seems to confirm that. However there is no sure bet with USCIS (their policies can change anytime)

2. My 485 received date is in Jan. and noticed date is in April, which date should I use for tracking?
A: USCIS processing time report is based on receipt date. However very few people on this forum pay much attention to official USCIS processing date since that information has proven to be of no use for tracking but only for generating an official querry on the case.

3. Is it safe to go back home country by using AP after I-140 approval and 485 pending?
A: Normally it is safe uless you filed I-485 under I-245(i) provision (if you are not familiar with I-245(i) it applies to some applicants that have been in violation of status for more then 180 days prior to applying for AOS).
