Hi,

I accidentally sent the documents to the Mesquite Center in texas instead of sending it to Chicago Lockbox. I received the the whole package back in a week. Now, I have everything ready to send to the correct address.

There are few points that are making me confused.

1) I-130 has a small cross (with red pen) and the check amount 355 is written on it with the stamp of Feb 6 2008 with an 6-8 digit ID number (Not sure what the ID stands for).

2) Same small cross (red pen) on I-485 and the check amount of 1010 with a stamp of Feb 6 2008 and off course the same id number

3) I-765 with a the following written on it with pen.

pd
Feb 6 2008
id number

The package came back with a front cover that indicates where to file the package correctly which will be Chicago. Everything is very very nicely arranged by the good people at TSC in Mesquite.

My only concern is the small red cross on I-485, I-130 and pd written on I 765 (EAD).

I will be sending the documents tomorrow so please advice if you know anything about it.

Looks to me the cross and stamps and id are for internal use only!

Thanks,
Azam

Well that's good news that they returned it to you!

Why not print out a new set of application forms without red crosses to send to Chicago if you're worried about it?

It looks like they are giving you the benefit of receipt date for Feb 6 and they have some internal control ID for chicago address, so you application should be treated for Feb 6.........(this is an assumption)

This is what I can think
Best option is reprint and send them

Yeah I am reprinting them :)

I will also attach the paper that USCIS attached. When indicated the internal ID.

mazam, I suppose do whatever the attached letter says; but since it was returned to you, I think it would be entirely appropriate to treat it as a new, never filed application. Perhaps it's true that they give you the benefit of the receipt date, not sure if it will help, other than perhaps with the statute that you need to get EAD and AP within 90 days from receipt. File whichever one you feel like, I guess. Since we don't know what the cryptic stuff means, if you don't mind the potentially new receipt date then send new forms.

Good luck! Alright, let's go over this one more time ... C ... h ... i ... c ... a ... g ... o. Chicago, Illinois. Got it? :p ;)
