Documents Required for H1 Filing

Hi,
I recently came to USA on H4 Visa (my Husband has a valid H1) and now I am going to file for my H1B.
The weird thing is that the firm which has agreed to file for my H1 is asking for my husbands I-797 approval and his recent pay stubs.
Is that really required for filing a dependens H1. As far as we know it is not.
Can anyone throw some light on this.

Yes you have to provide the I-797 and the recent pay stubs of the spouse when u apply from dependent visa to H1.

I have recently applied the same.
