Hi,
We (my wife and I) have been scanning various posts and trying to better organize ourselves for our interview on Tuesday (Aug 28 2007). thank you all in advance for wishing us luck.

So my understanding is that (Please correct the order of steps as well as information missing in steps. If you wish to propose a new organization plan that too. ) Please note everything is Original unless we mention Photocopy. We plan to keep a photocopy with the Original.

Main event that occured after we filed was our moving on July 28 2007. As per the responses in the forum we both have updated the information online.
But the confusion is which documents will they ask (the latest one or the older one that we submitted).

when we arrive at the GC interview venue (Boston, our appt. 8:30 a.m) we should be there 1 hour before to be safe?

Step1:
First We will be passing through Security Check
I will be going to work after this so can we take our office bag with us?

Step2:
Packet 1 to hand out:
Our our interview notice (as well as all other notices related to GC ?) + Drivers License for Identification ?

Then our notice gets stamped and we have to wait before being called correct ?

Step3: Meeting with the IO
Packet ID:
We hand over our IDs (Drivers Licenses, SSN cards, Passports ??)

Now I expect there will be questions etc. with the first one may be regarding joint docs or something showing proof of marriage:

Our address changed on 28th July 2007 so we should keep all the updated joint documents correct ?
The main confusion is with our lease, the new one has both of us while the older one only has my name and was submitted only as a proof of residence. So for now I am not considering submitting the 'old' one unless they ask

Step 4: (Marriage related)
Lease_NEW (both our names), (Started from 28th of July 2007)
home_owners_insurance_NEW
Cable Bill_NEW (my wife's name at new address)
Bank1 Statments (the most recent one was downloaded and printed)
Bank2 Statements (only online ones printed out)
Joint Health Benefits, 401K benefits
Marriage Certificate
Wedding Pics_NEW (if asked)
Wedding Invitation_NEW
Joint Tax filed (Transcript original)
Joint Car Insurance
Our Driver's License with the new address on the backside.
Cell Phone Bill (Downloaded from the account)
---------
I don't know if we need to add proof of residence of older location prior to July 28 2007. This is what we had submitted before I am thinking of making a separate packet for the 'old' joint documents?

This has in my name:
Lease (only in my name) (we have the original for that time period)
Utility Bill (Cable ) (we have the original for that time period)

Wife's Name
Electric Bill (we have the original for that time period)
Gas Bill (we have the original for that time period)
Drivers License (she had made a new one and contained this address)

------------The rest is

Documents only for her (USC)
1)
Her Passport (Since we do not have the original Naturalization Certificate for her, we checked the USCIS website where it mentions that Passport can be used as proof of citizenship if the Naturalization Certificate has been misplaced. Should we also apply for getting a new one (it takes about a year ?) before going to the interview ?

2) She got a job on May 14 2007 and has pay stubs and employment letter

Documents pertaining to me

1) My pay stubs (since I was the household member whose income we used)
2) Letter of employment
3) Tax Transcripts for 2005
4) My H1b visa already stamped in passport
4) My F1 visa (during my school years as I entered in U.S on Student Visa and then got a job H1b Visa)

Once I get all your comments I will organize/refine this and re post it for future reference as well as for everyone's opinion.

Our appointment letter said not to arrive more than 45 minutes early, since the waiting area is limited. I would stick to that.

Whan we first arrived we went through security. We didn't have to show ID, but we had to show them our appointment letter. They don't let you bring cell phones inside, so don't even try.

After entering the interview waiting room we dropped our letter in the box and waited. It wasn't stamped or anything.

The first question we were asked was if we rent or own, so the joint lease is very good. I wouldn't even bother bringing the old one. One thing I stuck to is that I didn't volunteer anything. I only gave the officer what he asked for, nothing more, nothing less.

Her U.S. passport should be sufficient. We brough my hubby's passport and birth certificate, the officer really only checked his driver's license actually.

Good luck!

Thanks your explanation helps a lot.

Just a quick question. For cell phones or any other item that they don't allow inside do we usually have a place to keep it or it becomes our own responsibility ?

I really don't know. The security guards might hold them for you. We saw the sign on the door, so we left our cell phones in the car. But, the security guys specifically asked if we had any cell phones, cameras or recording devices.

I just have a question for you all. i notice that alot of people are taking socail security cards to the interview. Is it areally required since it is not on the interview notice!!! Please I have it but my concern is for the petitioner. Thanks for your feedback.

Semaja,
social security cards are not required. In fact, a lot of people don't have a social security number and can't get one until they receive their GC.
