Documents needed to file spouse's I-485

Hello,

I am about to file my wife's I-485 on my own. I realize that I have to submit my I-485 receipt(which was filed a month back) + Medical report of my wife.

Besides the receipt, do I need to send any other documents (like copies of my passport, my employment letter, etc) to INS? Also, is it necesseray to send an "Affidavit of Support" (I-864)?

I also plan to apply my wife's I-485 myself, Yes. U need I-485 receipt, better to also attach I140 approval copy., Marriage Cert., Birth Cert., All evidence about her legal valid status since her prensence in US. e.g, visa copy,I-94 copy

u also need passport copies, entry exit stamps copy, Med. report

U don't need to submit anything related to ur job e.g Emp. letter since she is not main applicant.

U can submit I-134 ( Not I-864 ) now but still u will need newone if u get an interview. I was told my lawyer to submit I-134 just draft not notorized.

When and where did u submit ur I-485? is it Vermont? Did u get ur EAD.

I think you need to attach cover letter describing ur wife's application attachment to your application.

let me know if u find any coverletter for that.

My I-485 was filed in Vermont. No I haven't got my EAD yet, but I am planning to apply soon.

I guess depending upon the service centre, the affidavit of support form varies (I-134 or I-864). I am not sure of this. Anyone with more info?

I don't have any cover letter. Is it the same as I-181? Please help!!!
 
Did u apply ur I-485 by Own?

I am applying mine through lawyer but my lawyer charges lot for my wife who is going to join in next month to my GC process.

I haven't asked about cover letter for my wife to my lawyer.ofcourse my lawyer won't give any information for my spouse if i don't apply through him.

As far as i know person needs to file I-864 who is applying on Marriage Based.

I am not sure what is I-181. i will take a look.

I-181 is an information processing sheet which was sent to me by INS local office at Boston. I had requested for I-485 forms, and the I-181 came along with it.
