Documents needed for I-140/485

I am still waiting for my LC to get approved but my lawyer in the meantime asked me to sumbit paperwork for the I-140/485 process.

My lawyer has asked me to submit my bank statements for the past one year. Isn't that invasion of privacy? What does he need bank statements for?

DOes anybody know?
 
Send him W2s instead...

Call him up and tell him you will send him W2s to show proof of income form the company.

In the worst case

If he doesn't budge and wants bank statements, black out the account number and routing number and send him the copies.

Bank statements are needed with affidavit of support (I-864) if you have dependants.

my wife is going to be included in my application. My lawyer didnt ask for an affidavit of support but i'll do more research on the I-864 form.

My understanding is that the bank statements for the dependants are not needed if you are a salaried employee, and attach the letter of employment.
