What document do you use to re-enter the U.S. after the interview at a consulate? My husband's H1B visa may be valid for only a few months when he goes on the interview, we'd like to know if a renewed H1B visa is required to re-enter after an interview.
If the interview was for an immigrant visa, your husband will get a immigrant visa document attached to a sealed envelope. The sealed envelope is to be opened only by the immigration inspector.
His H1 and any other valid non-immigrant visas in his passport will be cancelled by the consulate and will no longer be valid to enter US.
