Document OTHER THAN CARD manufactured and mailed

"On February 16, 2007, we mailed the document we manufactured based on our earlier approval of this case, and mailed it to the address on we have on file. You should receive the new document within 30 days. If you do not, or if you move before you get it, call customer service."

Anybody know what this lingo means? USCIS is becoming harder to decipher with each passing day.

I applied for 485 in Apr 2004 in EB2 category for California region.
Priority date is Dec 2001. Has been stuck in namecheck for 3 yrs.

Last month, I called up USCIS 1800 number and cussed at the customer rep and threatened to sue USCIS. I told her my patience has run out and i'm in the last stages of filing a lawsuit and dragging USCIS to court. I also told her if I dont hear any updates on my case soon, I'll go ahead with the lawsuit.

Looks like something has changed. I'll wait till the end of next week to see if it's 485 approval , otherwise i'm going ahead with lawsuit. Have already spoken to the attorney. Just have to pay him the fees and he'll file it within a week...

I got the same message last week. Called USCIS thrice and all the 3 times they told me that Approval notice has been mailed!!

I am yet to receive the document so hard to believe...

Y dont U call up USCIS toll free number and verify?

I spoke to cus reps 2 times and both of them confirmed that my 485 is approved and I should receive approval document in 30 days. Of course, one should be naive to believe that $hit. So, in a few days I received an appointment from USCIS requesting my finger prints(code 1). I did the fingerprints on Feb 21.

I have already had 3 fingerprints(code 1,2,3) in the last 3 yrs. This was my 4th finger print. Thoroughly disgusted with these people, I've decided to wait until Mar 16th to receive my 485 approval document. If not, going ahead with lawsuit. The only thing stopping me is the attorney fees which would be a waste if I get the document by that time.

The processing of your case will resume shortly. A check of our records establishes that your case is ready for decision as the required investigation into your background has been completed.

We will make every effort to make a decision on this case as soon as possible. If you dont not receive a decision or other notice of action from us within 6 months of this letter, please contact us by calling our customer service number provided.

So, it looks like my 485 is approved based on this letter and previous messages. Will wait for the card now.

That sounds very promising. My letter is yet to reach us....
 
We got similar and a bit different message, though I still FEEL it is a computer glitch. We got emails and similar message on-line (as all of you, Document ...) for my wife on 14th Feb but we still have not recieved any letter yet. For my own case as primary applicant (EB2-NIW, TSC) same date same time, emails said post office returned the letter!!! and they send it again. I reaffirmed my address again with TSC same day (14th Feb). For my case also no letter arrived yet. I hope you gusy be right and we all end up to happy moments.
Let you all know if any letter come.

My letter was malied on 02.15.07 I'm still watting.

It seems to me that this letter only tells you that your name check is cleared, but it said nothing about your case getting approved. It might be approved in the near future but I don't see it says anything about it being approved already?

Can they approve your case without an updated FP?

They can approve his case and then ask him to get the FP done to issue the card.

Anyway, i think that his FP is done in Feb...
 
So how long after NC is cleared does it take for them to approve your case? I just got my NC cleared. They told me to wait for FP and then they will look at my case. What can I do to get them to approve my case sooner? My priority date is current and I485 RD is over a year beyond their posted processing date. I also saw two LUDs (2/27 and 2/28) after they told me my NC is cleared.

Regd approval

I spoke to USCIS customer reps 2 times and both of them told me that
my case was approved. I changed my addresss after I filed 485 but forgot to update it until Feb 16th, 2007.
See the first message I posted in this thread.

Northstar,
I received the same message and it mentioned that "Document other than card ...." was mailed on March'15th. My attorney's did contact the USCIS twice and they mentioned that the case (EB2-India-PD Nov'2001) is approved. Yet to receive anything thus far.

- How long did you have to wait for the approval document to arrive?
- When did you receive a FP notice?
- Have you received the card now?
