Document mailed vs. Card ordered

Hi,

Sorry if this has already been posted or asked.

My spouse's case was approved about 4 weeks ago (got the approval email). Then received the approval notice in the mail. Almost 4 weeks passed and nothing else...this morning got the following email:

----------------------------------------------------------------
Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR
TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: Document mailed to applicant.

On August 11, 2007 we mailed the document to the address we have on
file. You should receive the new document within 30 days. If you do not,
or if you move before you get it, call customer service.
----------------------------------------------------------------

Does this mean that the physical card is being sent to us or does it mean they are calling us for PP stamping or more biometrics? Anybody else in a similar situation?

Thanks.

this message usually means - a USCIS notice was sent your home address and got returned to USCIS ....and that's when this message comes up...

It usually refers to a missed FP notice or address change notice - most commonly....some kind of USCIS notice mail....Since you are already approved, not sure what this notice might refer to....It could possibly be your Card mail - if you haven't already received that...

Usually, USCIS checks the AR11 database and gets the updated address and re-send the entire mail back to the new address....

Was biometrics done during FP2 in May 2007? If not, this is most likely biometrics collection to produce the GC.

We have been at the same address for the last two years. All our USCIS correspondence has been coming here fine. Not sure why any notice would get returned or missed???

Call up and enquire what the document is. When they mail the card, they typically use the word "card". Not sure what the deal is here.

Just called the regular customer service number: 1-800-375-5283. The guy said he does not have any more info on what the document might be.

When I was going thru the process of getting to a representative, I heard that USCIS first mails a welcome notice to people that get approved, and then mails the card.
Maybe this is a welcome notice? Or is my approval notice that I received 4 weeks ago the same thing as the welcome notice?
