my father is supposed to sponsor me. however, the official info states that he would need to submit some proof of (self-)employment and a copy of his federal income tax return.
my father hasn't filed any income tax return as of yet, because he just lives off his pension from working abroad (germany). can he still file his income back taxes and submit that transcript?

What if my uncle/mz dad's brother would act as a co-sponsor financially - would that be counted for me to get my green card?

thanks guys...

Did your father work for the last 3 yrs and earned enough income? If so, he must have filed the income tax returns. You would need to submit the copies of those returns. Does he work now? If not, then he cannot sponsor you. He cannot sponsor you if he lives off pension.

Anyone can be a co-sponsor on Form I-864, whether your uncle or friend or wheover, so long s/he is either a LPR or a US citizen AND makes enough income to support his/her dependents and you.
