Docs req to retain old PD after I140 approval and change of employer

Hello all,
This issue has been discussed in brief under many other forums but I have not seen a concrete response. Many folks are also seeking a solution for this issue and so I thought it would be a good idea to start a new thread dedicated for this issue.

I had my I-140 approved when I was with employer A. Later I changed employer and joined employer B. Employer A is not giving me a copy of my I-140 approval notice and they have made it pretty clear to me that they would not release it to other company lawyers if they ask for it.
Employer B is saying that they need the I-140 approval notice to retain the old PD. I have the I-140 case receipt number which (online) says that the case has been approved

What are the documents needed by employer B so that they can re-capture the original PD?
Is the receipt number enough, or, is the copy of the I-140 approval absolutely necessary?
Is there anyone who has successfully retained their original PD using just the I-140 receipt number?

Thanks in advance
