A friend got his approval based on family immigration. He is coming from India. What all papers are required at time of landing? Will he need an Income tax clearance as well?

Docs needed will be listed in LANDING PAPERS.
When I landed, I took Landing papers, bank statement, Jwelllery Staement(Valuer's statement, if you are carrying), Educational Certificates, Work experience certifiates.
Instead of taking bank statement, take bank draft. that creates good impression. Specially, person comes from south Asia.
As far as, Tax statement concern. Canada people will not ask. But India Airport authority will not let you leave the country. so, better for their sake, take it. Because, person is going to leave India for ever. Any good Charted Accountant will help you to get that Tax clerance certificate. It takes 1 week to get from IT dept.
Based on old rules, applicaions, $10000 CND for applicant, and $2000 CND for each dependent is required.
Ask the expert OR dig out this portal also for latest info.

I am in Canada but out of work.
I dont think I need to show them anymore sponsorship docs, but a letter and bank statment copies showing that I would be able to support her (and that she will live in my apprtment) would be probably needed as this is one question they will definetly ask at time of landing.

Not much is required in terms of docs for family class immigrants. However, it's always a good idea to make a list of goods one is bringing and list of goods to follow [if any] - esp. jewellery [don't go overboard on this one].
Usually, passport and the landing papers are sufficient. If he is coming in as someone's spouse, make sure that the marital status has not changed and that he knows the address he/she is going to be at.

I have one more question. Is there something special involved in Income Tax clearance certificate for people in Govt. Service? My friend's agent (who helps with forms and stuff) in India is giving a hard time saying that a special NOC is required from his work.
Is this true that he needs somekind of NOC from work to get Income Tax clearance cert?

My mother landed on 12th based on Family class. I was the sponsor. No questions asked except where she will stay, no financial proof was asked. She declared good to follow and some Jewellery and TC.
By brother (dependent on my mother) landed today after going out to the USA border (getting a refusal there) and returning at rainbow bridge. the officer asked first question to show bank statement and I had to explain to him that he is depenedent in a family class application then he didnt ask any mre questions.
Also He didnt take any photo for my Brother and said the Photo on the PErm Residence document will be the one they will use for PR Card....
