DOB printed incorrectly

I got green card after a long waiting but trouble never ends. The date of birth printed incorrectly on my card. I'll appreciate your answers on the following question:

1. I have to travel via london which requires Permanent Resident Card to avoid transit visa. Is I-551 stamp is enough for travel? They specically asked for card.

2. I know I have to file I-90 for replaement of card. The form said to file in person in local BCIS office. Which office will process the I-90, local office or Service center?

3. How long will it take to get new card? I searched this forum it's about one year. Is that really one year?

4. My I-551 stamp on the passport is valid until Dec'04. Should I take another stamp after submitting I-90? It does not make sense to me get another stamp for travel since present one is valid.

Thanks JoeF. I checked VSC peocessing date for I-90, they have atleast one year backlog. Are you sure it is the same process as new card? It takes 1.5 month for me to get the new card. My guess, repalcement card is much longer than the first time card processing.
