Rajiv, I wanted to get back with you regarding your class cert. stipulation proposal. We had two meetings over here to discuss your proposal. However, after review of your proposal it does not look like DOJ can agree to it.....Finally, when can we expect your list of proposed settlement topics? Best regards"

At this point, I intend to present our settlement request this week. If they do not agree, we will go full steam ahead with the litigation. I intend to hire one more law clerk to devote full attention to our case. Upon refusal of our proposal, we will expose the shamfeul results of these delays. We have cases of people suffering horribly because of CIS.

Take care all. Do not lose heart. We won the day we filed the lawsuit. Rest all is just effort.

Edison,

I think you people and Rajiv are doing a fabulous job. I feel that we have a 50:50 chance of getting something done. I feel we need support from some main stream politicians then only our difficulties will be noticed. That does not mean that we stop the fight, I think we are going in the right direction, this is a very good beginning and we all should try harder.

GOOG LUCK to ALL

WIN

I feel, even if we win the lawsuit, the court might consider only few of the listed sufferings and proposals to resolve them as legitimate and discard others. I cannot comment in detail on these but this is my feeling.

And i also feel that if somehow, we get the point across to the politicians that the Citizenship clock if it starts from the point of I-485 application itself then by the time next election season starts, we will be voters and beneficial to them then and in the long run. Sort of a give and take policy...$0.02 :-)

I think all of our settlement items are reasonable and CIS can agree for them with in its authority. But I believe CIS is going to agree on a few and reject a few. Our success depends on how we pursue CIS to accept settlement items that solve most of the problems.

As we saw in their recent email, they are going say some items are not acceptable by DOJ, but some arm twisting is necessary to push more points to be accepted.

If the settlement is accepted 100% by CIS then its going to be a great vicotry of immigration reforms in American History forever.

The other activities that we can do to support it (ex: finding more plaintiff's), getting support from the general American population etc. should go a long way in supporting the litigation so that we can get some benefit out of it. I think there are some points in the litigation that would make the CIS more efficient, but we will see if they agree to it.

I think the effort to contact elected officials has slowed down. We should keep pressing and with the election year they are bound to take notice, this is the right time.
